If you are a subscriber of dear mortal, you will now also be receiving my latest mind baby—welcome to digital ⋆。𖦹˚.★ ritual!
This is a space that will act as a sunday sermon. I am not sure of it’s consistency, only my artistic whims know, but it will always be on sunday’s and it will come at least once or twice a month.
What is offered:
A card pulled. I’ve become quite the collector of various oracle and tarot decks, and feel called to share them in a meaningful way.
A prayer. Which could also be viewed as a contemplation or even a different/new perspective, which helps us expand out of the usual ways our minds prefer to think.
A poem, either from me or another. I want to write and share more poetry, because so often I find it tells the truth more than any academic or scientific paper does. The world needs poetry. And I hope maybe it inspires you to write some, too.
And sometimes… sharing the unconscious. Dreams I dream and collages I make. In older cultures, forget where I read this, the people of the village would share dreams and dissect them together, as they believed everyone could benefit and tap into everyone’s dreams—so cool! Let’s bring this back.
I will also include the ON MY MIND segment I sometimes share at the end of my essays, which includes various podcasts, books I’m reading, and general things I am noticing, including other artists who keep my own practice ignited. This will allow my essay’s to stand alone.
And in other news…
I am back in school! First class is US Power and Politics, and I couldn’t be taking it at a better time (do expect for me to share about my learnings as my political consciousness blooms). And so, for the time being, my essay’s will be fewer and further between. This space will act as the connective tissue between them, allowing us to stay in touch while my long form writing spreads thinner. > I will mostly be switching over to the podcast feature instead for longer form thoughts. Speaking can sometimes be easier and less time consuming than writing, for me anyway. I named it spoken moment, and it will not only bring more dimension to what it is I have to say, but will allow me to keep focus here while I am very busy writing papers in other realms.
Moving forward I decided some posts will be free and others will not at my discretion, depending on what is being shared. As I learn to share myself more honestly and intimately on the internet, I realize a paywall can act as a boundary for certain topics. If you haven’t become a paid subscriber yet, I hope you’ll consider it. It’s a friendly push that keeps me going. I also enjoy likes and comments—these are wonderful currency if paying is not something you wish to do. They let me know what I’m writing/speaking about is resonating and/or interrupting. I love to hear from ya’ll whenever I do, it beams me up like the sun. Nonetheless, no matter what, thank you endlessly for joining along!
The first digital ⋆。𖦹˚.★ ritual will be in your inbox tomorrow :) all of my love to you.
Obsessed!!!
